Common Questions About Mission Control

What is the ANAVIA Ground Control Station?

The ANAVIA Ground Control Station (GCS) is a portable mission command system for operating ANAVIA unmanned helicopters. It provides autonomous mission planning on a user-friendly interface, real-time telemetry monitoring of all critical flight data, and encrypted data link management. The GCS supports both single-operator and crew configurations with advanced radio headsets for team communication.

What data link options does ANAVIA offer?

ANAVIA offers four data link options: Mesh IP tactical radio (60 km range, MANET, AES-256 encryption, IP68 rated), active tracking dish antenna (140 km range, S-band MIMO, dual-axis tracking), point-to-multipoint tactical datalink (200 km range, electronically steered beam, EW-resilient, GNSS-denied capable), and LTE/SATCOM for unlimited range via 5G/4G cellular networks and Inmarsat satellite coverage.

Can ANAVIA helicopters fly beyond line of sight?

Yes. With the tactical datalink system, ANAVIA helicopters can operate up to 200 km beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) using fully encrypted terrestrial radio. With optional LTE or SATCOM connectivity, the operational range is unlimited. The aircraft features automatic return-to-home in case of lost radio contact and redundant GNSS receivers (GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo).

How is the data link encrypted?

All ANAVIA data links use military-grade AES-256 encryption. The Mesh IP radio system supports mobile ad hoc networking (MANET) with up to 60 network nodes and up to 10 watts of output power. The system is IP-based, allowing integration with existing military and civilian communication networks.
